Oh my, oh my, oh my.
I'm here.
The Man and I had a lovely few days in London. I finally saw the Changing of the Guard, much to the delight of the Inner 4-Year-Old who watched it on Captain Kangaroo to the strains of "Christopher Robin went down with Alice." We saw a couple of shows and got on stray buses to see where they'd go, did A. LOT. of stair-climbing on The Tube, and generally touristed around. It was all overshadowed by the impending separation.
But we DID get to tell someone "meet us by the Rosetta Stone in the British Museum, and we'll go to tea." If that's not on your Bucket List, well, it ought to be.
Now he's halfway home and I'm in Oxford. Here's the view from my OWN PERSONAL WINDOW IN MY OWN PERSONAL ROOM BECAUSE I LIVE IN ENGLAND NOW AS YOU DO:
Tonight a group of us Oxonians went out to the Angel and Greyhound. I had Pimm's for the first time. Think Dr. Pepper only fruitier. Yeah, I was disappointed, too.
I left early - because these kids are good kids, and I don't want to be the wet blanket this early - and discovered that on a Saturday night a person can be the only student in the college. O Constant Reader, my school is a very beautiful place.
This is only a tiny bit of Magdalen but I have KEYS and I'm going to spend the next 5 weeks exploring the crannies, and also the nooks.
But not tonight. Tonight all the jet-lag in the world has caught up with me, and I'm going to sleep.
In my room at Oxford.
Because I can.
